THE CHALLENGE

The Plant Signaling in Stress and Development (PSSD) Laboratory, a young research group at MBG-CSIC, was founded with a mission to understand plant immune responses and develop strategies to enhance crop resilience in the face of climate change.

THE CHALLENGE

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Cristóbal Galbán, a leading researcher at the GEMA Center, secured a prestigious ANID Coronavirus Research Grant to investigate the connection between air pollution and the airborne presence of SARS-CoV-2 in Chilean cities. His multidisciplinary team, comprising microbiologists, epidemiologists, meteorologists, and air pollution specialists, developed an innovative approach to track viral contamination in urban environments.

However, as part of the grant requirements, the team needed an effective way to communicate their findings to both scientific audiences and the general public: a major challenge given the complexity of the research and the urgency of the public health crisis.

Despite having a groundbreaking product, Celeris faced:
